Remember these as you pray this week:

    For Healing, Encouragement and God’s peace

Continue to pray for Teresa Kroes’ mother, Betty Allen as she recovers from heart surgery.  May God restore her health and strength.

Pray for the family of Sena Helms as they anticipate her home-going to heaven.  May God’s grace and peace be with them.

Please continue your ongoing prayers for those who struggle with chronic health concerns.

Pray for Hilda Dìaz, Marlene Helms and all others who are also receiving treatment for cancer.

Pray for God’s blessing on the fund-raising drive for the building project.

Family Faith Formation Tip.

Family Faith Formation Tip - Give an anxious child a tangible reminder that God is with him or her. Maybe it’s a special bracelet or necklace, or even a small “pocket stone” with the word “Peace” written on it. Having something meaningful to hold on to in anxious moments can help a lot.

Growing Hope Globally

Are you a farmer or involved in the agriculture industry?  Do you have a passion for helping hungry people help themselves?  If you said yes to one or both of these questions, please join us on Thursday, August 22 at 7PM at Vogel Center CRC to learn more about how Growing Hope Globally and World Renew are working together to grow lasting solutions to hunger and how you can get involved!

Hunter’s Safety Classes

Hunters Safety Class will be offered Friday, August 23 beginning at 5:30 pm and on Saturday, August 24, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. This is for ages 10 and above. Class size is limited, so reserve your spot today by calling Prosper church office at 231-826-4427. After signing up, you may pick up the two books that will need to be completed by class time. The Hunter Safety class will be held at Prosper Christian Reformed Church. Saturday lunch will be provided. 

Concert @ Highland CRC

“Highland CRC is hosting a Barnie & Nancy Miesse Concert and sing-along on Sunday, August 25, at 6 p.m. A hot dog roast will follow the concert. Join us for some great music and fellowship.”

VC Booster Club Fish Fry

The Booster Club needs your help.  Are you willing to help with our annual Fish Fry on September 6 and 13?  Sign-up sheets are located in the back of church to help at the fish fry or make a dessert.  Thank you! 

The Booster club is looking for extra veggies for the fish fry.  We’d love any extra tomatoes, peppers or cucumbers from your garden.  Please talk to Shelly Jenema if you can help.  

Prosper CRC Anniversary Events

We'd love to have the members of your congregation join us for Prosper CRC's 125th Anniversary Celebration activities.

Canoe/Kayak Trip on the Clam—Saturday, August 24, beginning at the Dam at 2:00 pm. 

Friday, Aug 30—Outdoor Movie -at Dusk. We’ll be showing Break Through.  Bring a lawn chair and blankets! In case of rain, movie will be shown inside.

Saturday, August 31 —Car/Truck/Bike Show at the Falmouth Community Center from 4:00-8:00 pm. We’re hoping to have a lot of cars, so come on out and check them out. The show will follow up with a ride through Falmouth.  Also, there will be a 50/50 raffle and food will be available to purchase. If you would like to enter your car, truck, or bike please contact Erik VanHouten at 231-878-3016.

Gospel Music @ Stahl Event Barn

Byron and Nancy Miesse, from Lake Placid, Florida will be performing gospel music at the Stahl Event Barn on Sunday evening, September 1, at 7pm. Byron, with his guitar and keyboard and Nancy, with her autoharp, blend their voices with their music and through faith they have been led to share their music. Free admission and refreshments. Bible League International

Join Bible League Volunteers for the “His Plan…Our Purpose” conference on September 6, 2019 from 9am-4pm at Friendship CRC in Byron Center. Guest speaker, author, and three-time GRAMMY and DOVE nominee, Michele Pillar has a testimony about her journey of courage that everyone who has ever needed help to overcome anything should hear. Lake City Community MOPS & MOMSNext:

Thursday, September 5, 10-11:30am: Moms, you are invited to experience To The Full this year at MOPS and MOMSNext! This first meeting will be an orientation—come to fill out your membership paperwork, have any questions answered, and enjoy a quick morning with some friends over coffee and light refreshments. Activities for kids will be provided during this time. Regular meetings will begin on Thursday, September 19, from 9—11:30am and will meet on the campus of Lake City Christian Reformed Church. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and MOMSNext is a time for all moms to come together for encouragement, equipping, and support in this journey of motherhood. Family Faith Formation Tip - Asking “How was your day?” might get you a one-word answer from your kids. Instead, ask, “What were the best and worst parts of your day?” You’ll be surprised by what you learn if you ask this question regularly, and the answers will give you things to pray about together.

Cadets Sporting Clay Shoot Event

ATTENTION ALL SPORTSMEN:  The Calvinist Cadet Corps is hosting the fifth annual Sporting Clay Shoot to benefit the 2020 International Camporee in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (specifically for the riflery and archery ranges). This benefit will also help offset the overall cost for Cadets to attend the camporee.  The event will be held on Saturday, August 24 at the Blendon Pines Gun Club in Zeeland, Michigan. For more information, call the Corps office at 616-241-5616 ext 4, or check out the Cadet website under the “events” tab. Everyone is welcome! Registration forms are available from your Cadet club’s head counselor, or you can register at our website: www.calvinistcadets.org. Lunch will be served at 11:30am. Join us for a fun filled day!

If you can’t make it out for the event but still want to be involved, we are looking for people willing to sponsor stations or make a pledge for a participating shooter. For more information on these giving opportunities, contact Kim at the Corps office at the number listed above.

Bible League International

On September 6, Bible League Volunteers host a conference for you called, “His Plan…Our Purpose.” You will be enriched with spiritual encouragement, joyful fellowship, and musical worship. To give you an opportunity to partner in providing Scripture engagement around the world, an offering will be taken for Bible League International ministry.     For Healing, Encouragement and God’s peace

Pray for Teresa Kroes’ mother, Betty Allen, who had surgery on Wednesday in Grand Rapids at the Meijer Heart Center.  Pray for God’s healing hand on her.

Pray for a good recovery for Al DeBoer who had a successful kidney procedure to remove a kidney stone on Wednesday.  May God bless with healing and restored health.

Sena Helms, Diane Lutke’s mother, is very ill at this time. Pray for the family as they anticipate her home-going to heaven.

Pray for a successful surgery and speedy recovery for Keith Buning who will be having hip replacement surgery on Monday in Munson Hospital-Traverse City.

Marlene Helms is continuing treatments for her cancer.  Her latest report showed that the original tumor has shrunk but there are new places requiring additional treatments.  Pray for healing and strength.

Rescheduled Prosper CRC Event

Author and speaker, Dr. David Murray will be preaching at Prosper Christian Reformed Church on August 4 at 6:00 pm. Dr. Murray is a Professor of Old Testament and Practical Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary.  An offering will be taken for the Seminary. Nursery is provided. Coffee and fellowship will follow the service. Prosper Church is located at 1975 E. Prosper Road, Falmouth, MI.

Family Faith Formation Tip.

Family Faith Formation Tip - Fred Rogers said, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’” When an ambulance or fire truck passes, cultivate compassion with your kids by praying together for the people who may be hurt or sick or in trouble and for the people who are rushing to help them.

There will be a benefit dinner by donations Sunday Aug. 4 at the Falmouth School from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.  The proceeds will go to Phil and Brenda Thompson a family in our community.  Phil has a tumor in his head and also neck area. His wife is a waitress at Duane's Family Restaurant. There will also be a silent auction and a 50-50 raffle. The Global Leadership Summit

Growing Hope Globally

Are you a farmer or involved in the agriculture industry?  Do you have a passion for helping hungry people help themselves?  If you said yes to one or both of these questions, please join us on Thursday, August 22 at 7PM at Vogel Center CRC to learn more about how Growing Hope Globally and World Renew are working together to grow lasting solutions to hunger and how you can get involved!

Hunter’s Safety Classes

Hunters Safety Class will be offered Friday, August 23 beginning at 5:30 pm and on Saturday, August 24, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. This is for ages 10 and above. Class size is limited, so reserve your spot today by calling Prosper church office at 231-826-4427. After signing up, you may pick up the two books that will need to be completed by class time. The Hunter Safety class will be held at Prosper Christian Reformed Church. Saturday lunch will be provided. 

Cadets Sporting Clay Shoot Event

ATTENTION ALL SPORTSMEN:  The Calvinist Cadet Corps is hosting the fifth annual Sporting Clay Shoot to benefit the 2020 International Camporee in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (specifically for the riflery and archery ranges). This benefit will also help offset the overall cost for Cadets to attend the camporee.  The event will be held on Saturday, August 24 at the Blendon Pines Gun Club in Zeeland, Michigan. Registration forms are available from your Cadet club’s head counselor, or you can register at our website: www.calvinistcadets.org. Lunch will be served at 11:30am. Join us for a fun filled day!
