Remember these with ongoing prayers for God’s Mercy and Blessing:

For Vivian Reinink who has moved to Quiet Creek AFC Home in Falmouth.  Pray for a good transition and adjustment for her.

For Ted Heuker, Sr. and Marleen as Ted is continuing to deal with health challenges.  Ted returned home from the hospital last Sunday.  Pray for grace for each day.

For Carolyn Yonkman who had an accident and is suffering from a badly damaged shoulder.  Surgery will be happening in Florida with a specialist on November 2.  Pray for successful surgery, good healing and relief from pain.

For Teresa Quist who is recovering from an appendectomy.  Pray for healing and restored health.

For Amy Rice who will be having surgery on October 28.  Pray for a successful surgery and good recovery.

For Justin Gernaat and Rachel as they walk Justin’s cancer journey.  Pray for them as they seek treatment for relief from pain.

For Chris DeBoer, Myrtle Holley, Lisa Proctor, Jack VanDrie, and all others who are experiencing health concerns and need God’s healing touch and peace and patience as they live each day.

Family Faith Formation

The ACTS Prayer - Check out this week’s kids’ devotion at www.kidscorner.net. There are lots of different ways to pray. One of them is called an ACTS Prayer. Each letter stands for a different section of the prayer.

AMEN Chorus Rehearsals

The AMEN Chorus will be rehearsing on Saturday, October 30 @ 10:00AM.  We are practicing for 6 weeks and then will put on an evening Christmas Program on December 4 at Rehoboth Reformed Church in Lucas.  If you are a gentleman that loves to sing and worship through music, we would love to have you join us.  All practices are held at Rehoboth.  If you have any questions, please contact director Angela Warner at 231-330-0894 or kirkangelawarner@hotmail.com

Skit Guys Performance

The Skit Guys will be at Rehoboth Reformed Church on Sunday, November 7 at 6 pm. The Skit Guys have been best friends since high school, and now take family-friendly comedy to churches, events, and conferences all over the world. Please join us! Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students, and only $10 if you have a group of 10 people or more. More information and a link to purchase tickets is at www.rehoboth.church/events. 

NMCS Dutch Food Market Sale

This is our preK –12th grade fundraiser.  It provides needed funds for class-room technology, playground equipment, the Accelerated Reader Program, field trips, and much more.  We are selling: Bakery Style Almond Banket pastry ($8), famous NMCS Cinnamon Rolls ($8/half dozen), tin of Dutch Wilhelmina Peppermints ($10/17.6 oz). We are taking orders until November 3.  Dates to pick up your products will be posted in the Comet Connection. Let’s get those orders coming in!

NMCS Musical Performance

Northern Michigan Christian High School presents Little Women: A Broadway Musical.  Please join us in celebrating our return to stage in this year's production on Friday, November 19 or Saturday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m. in The Elenbaas Theater for Performing Arts at the McBain Public School.  Tickets are available for purchase beginning November 16 in the NMCS office or at the door: $10/adult $8/student.  There are no reserved seats.  Thank you for supporting the NMCS Fine Arts Program by attending this exciting event.

Project Christmas

If you, or someone you know, need a source of encouragement for Christmas this year, we would love to help.  Project Christmas offers help with gifts for children, food, cleaning products, etc. and is accepting calls Monday-Friday from 10AM to 4 PM from October 18 to December 3.  Please call 231-839-8816 to apply.  You will need Social Security numbers for everyone in your home, MDHHS case number (If you have one) and job supervisor’s names (for those in the household who have a job).  More information can be found on our website:  projectchristmaswexmiss.org   

Missaukee Area Food Pantries

***There is free food available for families who need it at this time. See the distribution places and time on the foyer bulletin board or pick up a copy from the foyer table to pass on to those who could benefit from this service to the community.  Rehoboth Ref. Family Faith Formation

Faith Practice Reflection Tip - Reflection and Discussion Starter—the Practice of Gratitude: Read Luke 7:36-38 and ponder or discuss the following questions. If you can’t remember a time when you didn’t believe in God, it might be difficult to feel deeply what Jesus has done for you. How might you and other Christians recover a sense of wonder and gratitude for the sacrifice of Jesus’ life?

Remember these with ongoing prayers for God’s Mercy and Blessing:

For Gert Boven who is dealing with back pain and has moved to Medilodge in Traverse City.  Her new address is: Medilodge of Traverse City, Room B2, 2585 Lafranier Rd.  Traverse City, MI 49686.

For Ted Heuker, Sr. and Marleen as Ted is continuing to deal with health challenges. 

For Justin Gernaat and Rachel as they walk Justin’s cancer journey.  Pray for them as they seek treatment for relief from pain.

For Chris DeBoer, Myrtle Holley, Lisa Proctor, Jack VanDrie, and all others who are experiencing health concerns and need God’s healing touch and peace and patience as they live each day.

For Justin Gernaat, Deb Winkel, Kiyah Crowe, Laurie Koning, and all those in our church and community who are walking a cancer journey.

For our shut-ins, Harriet Quist and Ed and Edie Meyering and others who are homebound.

Pastor Appreciation Month

It’s October and that means it is Pastor Appreciation month.  Encouraging and supporting pastors and pastors’ spouses is important. While it’s something we should do throughout the year, typically October has a special emphasis on pastor appreciation.

Council Nominations for Elder & Deacon 2022

Deadline is TODAY!!  Please pick up your nomination packet from the foyer tables to participate in the selection of the new elders and deacons who will begin their term in January 2022. Completed selections that are sealed in a signed envelope can be placed in the designated boxes in the foyer or office.  Thank you for your part in this important process.

October Senior Fellowship Event

Our next outing will be on Wednesday Oct. 13th.  We will leave church at 9:50 and go to Brinks Family Creamery to watch the bottling process and see all the products they have and have an early lunch there.  This cost will be covered.  From there we will go to Maple Leaf Farm to learn how this business operates and see all the goodies offered there.  We can snack there or take something home.  Please sign up so we have a number for the lunch.

Family Faith Formation

Faith Practice Reflection Tip - Reflection and Discussion Starter—the Practice of Gratitude: Read Luke 17:11-19 and ponder or discuss the following questions. How have you experienced healing in your life, whether physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual? How did you, or how might you, express your gratitude to God?

AMEN Chorus Rehearsals

The AMEN Chorus will start rehearsing on Saturday nights beginning October 23 from 5:00-7:00 P.M.  We will practice for 6 weeks and then put on an evening Christmas Program on December 4 at Rehoboth Reformed Church in Lucas.  If you are a gentleman that loves to sing and worship through music, we would love to have you join us.  All practices will also be held at Rehoboth.  If you have any questions, please contact director Angela Warner at 231-330-0894 or kirkangelawarner@hotmail.com.  Please bring $10 to the first rehearsal to cover the cost of the music.

Christmas Cantata Rehearsals @ Rehoboth

The Rehoboth Reformed Worship Choir will start rehearsals on Wednesday nights beginning October 20 from 7:00-8:15 P.M.  We would love to have you join us for this weekly time of fellowship with music.  This choir is open to all that would like to participate.   We will be preparing our Christmas Cantata which will be performed during the morning service on December 19.  Please contact director Angela Warner at 231-330-0894 or kirkangelawarner@hotmail.com if you have any questions.

Skit Guys Performance

The Skit Guys will be at Rehoboth Reformed Church on Sunday, November 7 at 6 pm. The Skit Guys have been best friends since high school, and now take family-friendly comedy to churches, events, and conferences all over the world. Please join us! Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students, and only $10 if you have a group of 10 people or more. More information and a link to purchase tickets is at www.rehoboth.church/events. 

Missaukee Area Food Pantries

***There is free food available for families who need it at this time. See the distribution places and time on the foyer bulletin board or pick up a copy from the foyer table to pass on to those who could benefit from this service to the community.  Rehoboth Ref. Church (every Thursday), Good Neighbor Food Pantry at Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lake City (1st & 3rd Thursdays), or Prosper CRC (every other Thursday -Oct. 7,21)
