Senior Fellowship
Senior Fellowship will meet on Wednesday, February 8 @ 1:30pm. Danielle Hoekstra will join us to share about her new role with Love INC for Wexford and Missaukee Counties and the way in which they support local area churches. Please bring a container of laundry soap as a donation for their "Love and Laundry" Ministry. All seniors and retirees are welcome.

Grief Share
Vogel Center CRC is hosting a weekly Grief Share support group beginning on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 9AM through April 1, 2023. This group will offer help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. More information or questions can be directed to the church office (231) 825-2053.

Love Your Neighbor Food Drive
Please take note of the insert regarding this important food drive happening February 1-14. In addition, Community Hope can always accept financial gifts to go towards purchasing food for food pantries. Contributors can make checks out to Community Hope and put “food pantry” in the memo line. Our mailing address is Community Hope, PO Box 265, Lake City MI 49651. The donations will help us to be able to purchase food from other places than Feeding America as needs arise. People who are interested in helping to transport food contributions on Feb. 15 should contact our church office.
United – Night of Worship
United is back! A night of worship for junior high and high school students along with their youth leaders is happening on March 19, 2023 @6-8PM at McBain School Auditorium. Mark the date and invite a friend!

Missaukee Area Chamber of Commerce Winterfest
Missaukee Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a broomball tournament during the annual Winterfest on February 4, with registration starting at 9am at the warming tent. First game will be played at 9:30am, with prizes for the top 3 teams. Games will be played on the lake behind Hammer's, or on a provided rink depending on the weather. Keep on praying for Cecil DeZeeuw, infant son of Brandon and Amber, in DeVos Children’s Hospital with complications due to RSV. Pray for complete recovery for him and endurance for his family!

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday
In honor of Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, Wexford/Missaukee will be holding a "Silent March" at 2pm on January 22nd at the Northern Light Church at 115 Cobb Street in Cadillac. We will be marching to Mt. Carmel Cemetery where we will have 55 black crosses representing the 55 abortions in Wexford and Missaukee Counties in 2021. After a short eulogy, refreshments will be served back at the church.

Thank you for your prayer and financial support over the past years during their ministry with Lamb Hospital in Bangledesh. In the best interest of their children and family, Josh and Popy will not be returning to Bangledesh. Josh has accepted a new position in Minnesota.

Vogel Center CRC is planning to welcome an immigrant family from the Ukraine into our community. Please join us in praying for Oleksandr and Alina, along with Nazar (7yo), Amelia (5yo) and Anna (13 months).
When will they arrive?
They are scheduled to leave their home on Tuesday, January 24 and finally arrive at the airport in Traverse City on Friday night January 27.
Where will they live?
When they first arrive, they will live in the parsonage with Pastor Adam and Amanda. Later, we hope to find a home to rent in our community.
Will they be able to work?
Alexander is a builder and Alina an accountant, but it will take some time to be able to work (soc sec #’s, etc.) We will give them some support from the benevolence fund until they can support themselves.
How can we pray?
Thank God for all paperwork and arrangements finally being in place for them to travel.
Thank God for the generosity of our church and community that make this possible.
Please pray for traveling mercies over a long journey.
Pray for safety as their neighborhood has received missile attacks from the Russians the past few days.

Health concerns:
Continue to pray for Cecil DeZeeuw, infant son of Brandon and Amber, in DeVos Children’s Hospital with complications due to RSV.
Vivian DeZeeuw, their daughter, has returned home to continue her recovery from RSV. Pray for healing for these little ones and peace and strength for their family!
Kaylie Gernaat spent time in DeVos Children’s Hospital this week following corrective back surgery. She hopes to return home this weekend.
Ken Westmaas was moved to a home this past week to better care for his needs. Please continue to pray for him to be able to adjust. We so appreciate the prayers and support we have received from our church family over the past month. Thank you to all who have prayed for us and offered assistance in various ways. Chris DeBoer has been admitted to Cadillac Hospital for an infection in sore on her leg. Pray for recovery for Chris and peace for both Al and Chris.

Vogel Center CRC is hosting a weekly Grief Share support group beginning on Saturday, January 22, 2023 at 9AM through April 1, 2023. Outreach Committee Request
The Outreach Committee is looking for anyone that would be willing to help with providing food for families in our church and/or community. We are in need of hot meals, freezer meals, breads, and desserts. If you are interested in helping, please let Betsy Diemer, Amanda Barton, or Dawn Zuiderveen know. We will also have a sign-up sheet in the narthex.
Mississippi Trip – 2023

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday
In honor of Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, Wexford/Missaukee will be holding a "Silent March" at 2pm on January 22nd at the Northern Light Church at 115 Cobb Street in Cadillac. We will be marching to Mt. Carmel Cemetery where we will have 55 black crosses representing the 55 abortions in Wexford and Missaukee Counties in 2021. We will have a short eulogy. Refreshments will then be served back at the church.
Community Hope Cookbooks
Taste Tested Hometown Cooking Books are available at the office. Please pick up a cookbook and leave your payment in the designated envelope. Checks should be made payable to Community Hope. Books will be on sale here until in January.
